KACF awards $10,000 through the Building for Tomorrow grant

KEARNEY — The Kearney Area Community Foundation recently awarded a total of $10,000 in Building for Tomorrow grants to five local nonprofits.

  • $1,000 was awarded to Choice Family Health Care to help update the clinic’s paint and flooring.
  • $1,000 was awarded to HelpCare Clinic to help purchase a security/alarm system.
  • $2,000 was awarded to LyonHeart Equine Assisted Learning to help support their Stable Connections program.
  • $1,000 was awarded to Robert M. Merryman Performing Arts Center to bring in a nationally touring jazz musician and to provide a free community outreach class for people to engage with ukuleles.
  • $5,000 was awarded to the University of Nebraska at Kearney-Loper Launch Enrichment Camp 2024 to help support their academic summer camp.

The Building for Tomorrow Grant typically funds projects or programs in the Kearney area and surrounding communities. Grants are made to nonprofit, federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) qualified organizations, or organizations delivering a project or program which have a fiscal relationship with a qualified charity.
Applications are accepted on a bi-annual basis with the next “Building for Tomorrow” grant cycle on August 1, 2024. Organizations are encouraged to read the grants guidelines by visiting www.kearneyfoundation.org/building-for-tomorrow to determine if their organization qualifies and to apply in the coming months.
